ALWAYS freezes at least once ever days is it time for a new ipod?

Well not yet. This is quite normal, as you it responds after you restore it, plays your songs, and gives good sound quality then your iPod is still good. Try restoring your iPod into factory settings, this will cause your iPod to function normally.
